Jason Lloyd Schaber was sentenced Tuesday in federal court on one count of sexual exploitation of children and one count of distributing sexually explicit images of a minor, U.S. Attorney Wendy J.
Olson announced.
Officials say Schaber posted several Craigslist ads online seeking sex for himself as well as the child. One of sex ads stated "desperate times calls for desperate measures."
"Mr. Schaber well deserves the lengthy sentence the Court imposed," Olson said. "His horrific conduct victimized an innocent child."
One of the ads, prosecutors say, had a graphic description of the prostitution plans with the child.
"Hurry before your once in a lifetime opportunity passes you by," the ad stated.
The advertisements were apparently spotted by a local citizen who then alerted police.
Prosecutors say a laptop was confiscated from Schaber's residence that featured multiple images and videos of graphic child porn. On the media were 2-4 year-old children being sexually molested by grown men, officials say.
