Jean Segura’s wife Kellen Segura is the mother of their son Juan Diego. She originally hails from Venezuala. I have no idea how Jean met her, but I believe she lives in the Dominican Republic now. Since Jean grew up in the San Juan province of the Dominican Republic, my guess is she lives there now. Jean calls her “mi consentida,” and this means “my pampered one.” It’s a cute nickname and I’m sure Mr. Segura treats her very well because she always looks happy.
Back in July of 2014, the Seguras struggled through a horrible loss. They lost their nine-month old son. Jean Segura’s wife lived in the Dominican when it happened, which is why I think she still lives there. Their son was named Janniel. Carlos Gomez said of the incident that he felt horrible for his friend, Jean. It’s difficult to imagine the pain Jean and Kellen experienced. Kellen returned about a week later and the crowd gave him a standing ovation. All of his teammates attempted to give him comfort and support, and they said little about it. Everyone felt worried for him. The media did not mention Kellen because it probably wanted to give her space and privacy. It must have been extremely difficult for her.
Now, however, the Seguras live their own life and look happy with their beloved son. Jean says Juan Diego is his reason to live. He is definitely a cute kid. Jean Segura’s wife laughs at the funny faces Jean makes right along with their kid. Jean posts occasional pictures and videos of the family together. When she can, Kellen attends baseball games with the child. I don’t know what her citizenship status situation is, but I do know it can be difficult to even get a green card sometimes. Kellen recently dyed her hair a lighter color after it was dark brown.
