Mike Tyson was beyond impressed by Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3. Fury and Wilder had everyone’s jaw, dropping when they squared off in a wild back-and-forth fight. Just when it looked like Fury would run away with the win after a third-round knockdown, Wilder came back a man possessed, knocking down Fury twice – a 10-7 round!

Fury kept his cool, and then began piecing up Wilder in the later rounds (After Rd 8). Wilder was groggy after suffering a brutal knockdown in the 10th round. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ finally succumbed to Fury’s brilliance, after a massive right hand from the Brit knocked his spark out.

More recently, boxing great Mike Tyson made his opinion known on the Fury-Wilder war. He wrote on Twitter that the fight would not be remembered for skill but for the grit and determination of the two warriors. Acknowledging that the fight was bigger than the hype, Tyson claimed that both Fury and Wilder achieved all-time great status.

“The fight was bigger than the hype” – Mike Tyson on Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3

Fury vs Wilder fight will go down as one of greatest. Not for skill but for action and excitement. That fight was all guts, heart & determination. Everybody won Saturday night. The fight was bigger than the hype. Both of them reached all time great status…

Tyson himself has been a part of a number of dog fights. Who could forget his slugfest with Buster Douglas that ended up handing Tyson his first loss. That fight is considered by many to be the greatest upset in sporting history (even better than Leicester City?).

Tyson’s first war against the ‘Real Deal’ Evander Holyfield ended in a similar fashion to that of Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3. After going back-and-forth with Holyfield, Tyson was knocked out in the eleventh round, just like ‘The Bronze Bomber’ was on the 9th of October.
