The tennis season is currently behind the curtains, with all the ATP Tours being done and dusted for the 2023 season. But still, there is a lot of fire left to be extinguished before the year ends, as Nick Kyrgios and tennis legend Boris Becker have been seen exchanging a lot of statements on social media. The feud between them started when Kyrgios took a dig at the German during his exclusive interview with the media team of The Athletic.
Kyrgios marked the tennis played back in the 80s and 90s as much slower compared to that of today’s. He also took the example of Becker, citing that he would not stand a chance against the players of the current generation.
Becker took to Twitter to answer the Australian, saying that Kyrgios doesn’t get the right to speak about the sport after accepting the fact that he has hated tennis a lot of times throughout his career.
When Becker finally questioned Kyrgios’s credibility, the Australian lost his cool, bringing up personal attacks against Becker. Kyrgios also sought the example of Alexander Zverev and Patrick Mouratoglou, asking Becker if they deserved credibility under his eyes. Recently, Becker put all the fight to rest, tweeting about the speedy recovery of the Australian.
I wish Nick a speedy full recovery and can’t wait to see him back on a tennis court! He is an exciting player when he is fit! He has got a Grand Slam in his bag but you have to do the talking on the court ….good luck!He wrote on X
The strings of Twitter attacks Nick Kyrgios and Boris Becker attacked each other
In the string of personal attacks caused by Nick Kyrgios and Boris Becker, both parties had made strong claims against one another. Nick Kyrgios started the feud by speaking out in an interview.
The game was so slow back then. I’ve watched Boris Becker and I’m not saying they weren’t good in their time, but to say that they would be just as good now, it’s absurd. He said
To this, Becker replied through a tweet on Twitter.
At the end of this whole feud, Kyrgios responded yet again in the same old Kyrgios fashion, thanking Becker for helping the world know about his new Only Fans venture through his tweet.
Hahahaha this bloke speaking about credibility… Last I checked you were the one hiding assets no? Basically, 99 percent of the tennis tour doesn’t have credibility then? Potato. What about your boy Zverev? No credibility? He hasn’t even won a doubles Grand Slam? Does that mean we both don’t have credibility?Next Kyrgios replied again
In which he also tagged Patrick Mouratoglou.
At the end of it all, Becker decided to wish Kyrgios luck and a speedy recovery for the future but warned him to let his racquet and gameplay do all the talking rather than spreading words around the world.
