BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — Boise State is apologizing left and right on social media Wednesday after a system error sent an email to all of its students that their status had been discontinued.
The university, which has almost 24,000 students enrolled in the fall 2016 semester, said on Twitter that "due to systems process error overnight, an email was sent to many/all students stating student status had been discontinued."
The notification also warned everyone that their BSU student email access would be deleted in 30 days.
The university apologized on Twitter with a GIF of Taylor Swift holding a "sorry" sign.
"We deeply apologize, you're still students," BSU said. "@BoiseStateHelp is working through the issue now. Please hold tight."
Students who, not surprisingly, are under a bit of stress with finals approaching, fired back at the university's main Twitter account with a few zingers.
